The Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University in Phoenix hosted the sixth annual Schiefelbein Global Dispute Resolution Conference on January 11. The event drew 523 registrants from 42 countries. Noteworthy speakers and panelists delved into the future of arbitration, discussing topics such as crisis negotiations, forging a career in international arbitration, and resolving entertainment and supply chain disputes. A unique highlight was a panel member participating via hologram from Amsterdam.
Keynote speaker Kevin Kim of Peter & Kim in Seoul shared insightful comments on overcoming language and cultural barriers in international arbitration. The conference also featured the awarding of Schiefelbein scholarships to students pursuing studies in international law and international dispute resolution.
Looking ahead, the Conference is set to take place in Geneva at an international venue in June 2025.
